FABCamp is an online 5 week intensive STEM leadership course
Who’s ready for FABCamp? Who would have thought something so insignificant as having a cough could change a generation? What do you do when a microscopic piece of biology one-tenth the width of a human hair is poised to upend the entire world?
You pivot.
In early 2020, anticipating the truly seismic uncertainty facing not just young girls, but quite literally, everyone, Athena Racing made the move to shift our program from in-person racing to online with our first FABCamp.

Our 5-week program was designed to help young women see what’s possible and then to go get it. Accelerators to the floor.

/// THE TRIKE ///

The overarching project for FABCamp was the drift trike. Since our Athenians couldn’t be there, in the garage, in person, we brought the garage online and onto their devices.
Over the course of 5 weeks, our Athenians watched as world-class engineers, fabricators and former Athenians took common off the shelf parts and repurposed bicycle frames to create a 6.5 horsepower drift trike.
They also learned from some truly inspiring women who brought real-world practical experience and actionable advice to FABCamp.

DRIFT TRIKE

Our Athenian’s experienced the live building of a 6.5hp drift trike from afar.

INDUSTRY EXPERTS

Our Athenians got to benefit from the wealth of experience our industry experts provided. Each class consisted of three speakers covering one of ten training tracks.

INSPIRING CAR COLLECTIONS AND OWNER STORIES

Athena Racing staff went out and interviewed the owners of some world-class car collections. Miatas, Shelby Cobras, and classic muscle cars were all on display.

FEMALE STEM LEADERS

Athena Racing brough in some truly inspriing female leaders who are forging their own path in a traditionally male dominated field.

GAME SHOW MIKE

All work and no play makes for a dull lady. We had our resident joker Mr. Mike host a quiz show for the Athenians for a chance at points and prizes!

CONTESTS & PRIZES

Did someone say prizes? Yes please! Our Athenians had the chance, not only to learn, but to win some great STEM related prizes that would further their learning and careers!
