MOST RIVETING SUMMER STEM CAMP EVER!
#FABcamp 2022
FABcamp is back and better than ever! This is THE online STEM-education maker camp for middle school and high school girls who are curious about making the world move – designing, building and engineering, how cars work, and those who make them.
Our FAB build, led by Akshaya, will be showcasing our project for the year – building a driving simulator into a BMW 318. We will show you how we plan, build, and wrench as we move our shop online.
Each Wednesday we will unveil all of the stages of building a BMW into a driving simulator, interview female STEM role models, tour career possibilities, explore mechanical marvels and have fun contests! Every weekday there will be special assignment drops – an activity a day – related to the topics we discuss each Wednesday. Throughout the camp you’ll have the chance to earn points through the daily drops, assignments and more. Those points add up to great prizes with the Grand Prize winner getting a new MacBook laptop!
While the theme of this STEM maker camp is an industry sector – automotive, motorsport and transportation – it involves all skill sets. The speakers are experts in entrepreneurship, design, engineering, medicine, law, public speaking, journalism and more!
What will this FABrication look like?!? You’ll have to join us to see! We guarantee that this year’s FABcamp will keep you riveted!
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

THE BUILD
This year we are building a driving simulator into a BMW. Imagine learning how to drive a car – using a video game – in a real car!

INDUSTRY EXPERTS
Our Athenians benefit from the wealth of experience our industry experts provide. Each day we’ll explore two education tracks to learn more about how it pertains to the industry.

BEHIND THE SCENES
We’ll take you on a journey to see the places and people that most never get to visit. Hear the stories of the why, how and what they do.

CAREER DISCOVERY
True STEM role models tell you their story of how they have accomplished their work, training and life to inspire you to forge your own path in a traditionally male-dominated career path.

WHAT IT TAKES
You think you know what you want to be when you grow up, but do you know what it takes to do it? We’ll experience the skills that it takes for a variety of jobs. Think of this as the female version of “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.”

CONTESTS & PRIZES
Did someone say prizes? Yes please! We not only have fun learning, but also have the chance to win some great STEM related prizes to further your learning and careers!
FABcamp prizes are generously provided by Toyota of Killeen

Athena Racing explores topics of inquiry that are rarely taught at the high school level. Course instruction is delivered through live online sessions with industry experts.
Not for credit or grade, Athena Racing allows participants to tap into the incredible knowledge base of industry experts who are paying it forward to the next generation of leaders.
Outside of the coursework, Athenians will have the opportunity to engage and build community with their peers through our private online social network, Club Athena.
Club Athena membership is included with summer camp registration. You will have access to the camp material until September 2022.
Those who participate in our camps and Club Athena get special access to scholarships and new programs before the general public is alerted.
Your seat reservation donation powers our non-profit to do more, for more…girls. Once the seat is reserved the donation is non-refundable.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
LOVE FROM PAST FABCAMPS
What do our Athenian’s think about their experience with FABcamp? After all, these are the young women who found themselves thrust into a level of global uncertainty that occurs maybe once in a century. These are the responses of action takers. These are problem solvers. These are leaders. We went straight to the source to find out what our Athenians thought about the FABcamp experience.
“I like this camp because it’s empowering to young girls who can really use the encouragement especially during these tough times.”
– Jessie, Rocky’s Dad
“I like that my daughter is doing this camp because it will help her reach her goal and learn about something she loves”
– Christy, Sophia’s Mom
When I grow up I want to be a mechanical engineer. I think it is important to learn about different jobs in the automotive industry because there might be a specific job I like but don’t know about yet.”
– Sophia
