I have been doing art for years! I enjoy the fact that there are multiple forms of art, such as drawing, painting, sculpting, or even photography. Each is amazing and people can make really interesting pieces with all of them. Art can be a method of coping or just something you do for fun! It’s open to your imagination and you can create whatever you want, it doesn’t have to be perfect to look splendid!
Personally, my favorite mediums are colored pencils, acrylic paintings, and sketching pencils. I enjoy how precise yet free I can be with any art method. The feeling of using a paintbrush on a canvas or the sound of sharpening a colored pencil is comforting. I make art to express my thoughts and emotions, and these feelings can be reciprocated by the viewers through the pieces as well. Certain colors can be portrayed as certain emotions. Red usually is used to represent anger, yellow is used to represent happiness, while blue may represent sadness. These colors can be used to find a deeper meaning in the art, but again, each person may understand the image in different ways. That’s the beauty of imagination!
There is a variety of things that you can draw: people, animals, cartoons, all of which can be realistic or fictional pieces! You can find something interesting around you to draw as well, I always find nature to be influential in my art because each piece of nature is very different from the last. There are so many things that you could draw, for example, a bird about to take flight or even an interesting-looking snail you saw on your daily stroll. The simple things in nature, such as a plant with droplets of water from early morning fog or as complex as the garden of roses that you have been working so hard to grow are all great items to draw! These images don’t even have to be realistic, they could be abstract or disoriented and still turn out absolutely beautiful!
Science can also inspire art, for example, when a new living organism has been found, scientists may create fieldnotes. Fieldnotes can be a type of art form where the new species is drawn from different perspectives, they are used to observe the characteristics of this animal. Researchers can also use these notes for research in the future as references when talking about their behavior or activities. Scientists may then use these fieldnotes to compare to other animals with similar characteristics.
Art is an amazing activity because it relieves stress, it can calm you down and it is just an entertaining hobby to do, especially with The Covid around. Art is a vast number of things from painting an animal to sculpting an object. No matter what you make, it is just a great task to have some fun! Go ahead and create a relaxing art piece, and don’t be scared to get your hands dirty!
