MOST RIVETING SUMMER STEM CAMP EVER!
#FABcamp 2022
FABcamp is back and better than ever! This is THE automotive maker camp for middle school and high school girls across the nation who are curious about cars, how they work, and those who make them.
Our intense, fun-filled, activity-packed 4-week sprint inspires our future female leaders who want to learn from industry experts.
Our team will be showcasing how to plan, build, and wrench our automotive project – a driving simulator made from a real car – as we move our shop online with project-based learning. Each week we will unveil all of the stages of the build from the beginning planning stages to cutting to welding to painting to the final reveal.
What will this FABrication look like?!? You’ll have to join us to see!
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

THE BUILD
This year we are building a driving simulator into a BMW. Imagine learning how to drive a car – using a video game – in a real car!

INDUSTRY EXPERTS
Our Athenians benefit from the wealth of experience our industry experts provide. Each day we’ll explore two education tracks to learn more about how it pertains to the industry.

MECHANICAL MARVELS
We’ll take you on a journey to see incredible pieces of machinery and hear the stories of how they work and what they do.

CAREER DISCOVERY
True STEM role models tell you their story of how they have accomplished their work, training and life to inspire you to forge your own path in a traditionally male-dominated career path.

WHAT IT TAKES
You think you know what you want to be when you grow up, but do you know what it takes to do it? We’ll experience the skills that it takes for a variety of jobs. Think of this as the female version of “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.”

CONTESTS & PRIZES
Did someone say prizes? Yes please! We not only have fun learning, but also have the chance to win some great STEM related prizes to further your learning and careers!

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING
LOVE FROM PAST FABCAMPS
What do our Athenian’s think about their experience with FABcamp? After all, these are the young women who found themselves thrust into a level of global uncertainty that occurs maybe once in a century. These are the responses of action takers. These are problem solvers. These are leaders. We went straight to the source to find out what our Athenians thought about the FABcamp experience.
“I like this camp because it’s empowering to young girls who can really use the encouragement especially during these tough times.”
– Jessie, Rocky’s Dad
“I like that my daughter is doing this camp because it will help her reach her goal and learn about something she loves”
– Christy, Sophia’s Mom
When I grow up I want to be a mechanical engineer. I think it is important to learn about different jobs in the automotive industry because there might be a specific job I like but don’t know about yet.”
– Sophia
